Throw down your thoughts here. If there are any good ideas that are doable, easy enough. Let's get some people posting.

Thanks for creating this, Cram. What do Exalt and Smite do? :-)

I have no idea. Probably meaningless praise. I guess I'll disable it eventually. Let's get some members.

Yeah, but not sure why you were able to post as a guest. You either registered and quit the site, or I have to change something.

One thing about this forum is that you can you do that you couldn't do before is post videos. In fact, that will be the next topic.

I never posted in the Off Topic or political folders on the AOL Trek forum. Are there people here who did and want something like that here? I'm also thinking of opening up an "Other Sci/Fi" area. If you guys feel it's worth it, it's easy enough to do.

If you guys feel it's worth it, it's easy enough to do. Go for it. Speaking of the *A*OT board, can anyone see if that crowd would be interested in coming here? Kahvis, Bear, Sue, etc.

Funny part is, Kahvis is the only name I recognize, and I'll make the sections now.

I took care of inviting some very cool people such as Biffan, Kahvis, Bearkess, and a few others who have already signed on.
Unfortunately, The *A*OT had become known as a sewage folder in recent times, and several prominent names just stopped posting due to the actions of a small group of constantly whining troublemakers.
That sure would suck if that were to happen here......

If you didn't invite those troublemakers, we should be ok. It's not hard to ban or suspend people either, though I would have a lot of leeway.

I invited Kahvis (Steve) too, ahead of you I think, since he said he didn't know the boards were closing, He said he might give it a look.

That's easy. This isn't AOL. I don't have to start threads. Anyone can. Just head over to the Other Sci Fi section and go to town.

Let's give it a try. I put the code in the global footer section but I don't see where the ignore feature is. I may not have access to it since I'm the admin though.

Interesting. Seems StarGary007FurySeven has managed to use my screen name here. I guess in addition to being paranoid, we can add "Troll" to his vast list of accomplishments. Um....isn't that how you defined Isa? The name that makes you go ballistic when compared to? Dunno if I'd wanna go that route. But whatever makes live worth living for ya. (Wonder if I really have no reason to not use that pic of Gary Seven for an icon...thanks for providing it....) --Gary 7--

First--did that code work? Second--is there a code that can make only one person have a particular name?

I guess in addition to being paranoid, we can add "Troll" to his vast list of accomplishments. Should we file that under it taking one to know one given that you came here for the specific purpose of behaving like one?*-GarySeven-*

First--did that code work? I believe so. I don't see any reason why it shouldn't work so long as it's inserted in the right place. Second--is there a code that can make only one person have a particular name? It doesn't look that way. *-GarySeven-*

I simply cut and pasted that code in the right spot. No editing. I guess you'll have to tell me by ignoring someone.

What sucks about it, however, is that while it blocks out the message of the person you want to ignore, their Ugly Screen Name and Avatar still remain.
But in the immortal words of Mark Levin, "Thank me!"*-GarySeven-*

Question about the avatars. Some people have short video clips (QuickTime, I'm guessing) as their avatar. How is this done?

If you are talking about for example, the shot of Bush flipping off the camera, that would be an animated GIF. It's the same as any other avatar.
