Glad to hear these rumors were wrong.
Over at Blastr:If you still think Khan is in Trek 2, Simon Pegg's annoyed with you So is Benedict Cumberbatch playing Khan or not in the upcoming Star Trek 2? I'm starting to think that the "leaks" the led to these fears were part of a well designed campaign of misinformation. If that is the case then I am doubly glad that they are not going Khan and that they are smart enough to keep real details secret. Wouldn't surprise me at all if JJ is just trying to throw spoiler-hunters off the trail.
Of course, that does make me even more curious what is actually going on in this movie.

I don't mind the extra thread, but for what it's worth, I had this in the Trek XII spoilers folder.
No big deal though.
Just to repeat what I said there, as long as Pegg is telling the truth, he did a good thing.
It's ok to tell us what the villain isn't. It's even no big deal to tell us who he IS at this point--it's not really a plot spoiler.
Or not a major one.
