Cancelling Doctor Who over there would be insane.
The show is a monster ratings hit over there, and has a nice following over here too.

This rumor pops up every so often. Doctor Who isn't gong anywhere. It's very popular in its homeland and probably has a bigger following in the U. S. than it ever did before. Years ago when I first started watching it, pre-Tom Baker, most Americans made fun of it. While I hate the split seasons, it's an old ratings ploy and the fact that the BBC is broadcasting the Olympics this year certainly comes into play.
