Absolutely gripping show from start to where they are now. Caught up in just over a week on the first two seasons. Outstanding drama. Brilliantly cast. It's a bit like 24 season 5 where anyone is expendable at any moment.

It's a bit like 24 season 5 where anyone is expendable at any moment. Agreed --the ending to season two was especially awesome ...that last scene really got me.
What bugs me though is that episodes like "Blackwater" should have been done far larger in scope to give it a more epic look and feel, and for some reason, the producers of these current shows don't like relying on CGI. The showrunners of "Spartacus" are guilty of exactly the same thing, even though they have less of a budget to work with. Nevertheless, these guys won't turn to using it as a tool in their arsenals, and it really annoys the hell out of me sometimes, such as when I watched GoT's "Blackwater" --if ever there was an episode that would have benefited from GCI trick photography, that was it.

Sorry you'll have to remind me which episode Blackwater was. Not familiar with the names. Admittedly took me a full season before I actually remembered all the character names lol
I heard that the 2nd season took a huge budget cut, so maybe thats a lot to do with effects cuts, but I don't mind the drama more than made up for it. And isn't the guy who plays the dwarf a truly brilliant character actor? It reminds me of Rygel in Farscape who was the most intelligent character on the show, yet largely due to his size and selfishness, very underestimated and unappreciated.

Sorry you'll have to remind me which episode Blackwater was. Not familiar with the names. "Blackwater" was the next to last episode of the season, which dealt with Stannis Baratheon's night attack on King's Landing to oust Joffrey. People who read the novels had been looking forward to that episode for nearly two seasons, and while it was decent and entertaining enough, it could have been made to look a lot more epic had they just invested in a little CGI to help give the impression that it was all taking place on a much wider scale. Frankly, I felt disappointed and a little cheated that they didn't use it to enhance such a major episode in the series, and a lot of fans of the books felt the same way after it aired. But as I said, the producers of "Spartacus" are guilty of the same thing, and frankly it annoys the hell out of me with respect to both of those shows.I heard that the 2nd season took a huge budget cut, so maybe thats a lot to do with effects cuts No, actually, they got a significant budget increase. They spend about five and a half million dollars an episode on that show. And isn't the guy who plays the dwarf a truly brilliant character actor? Yes, and he's won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for his role as Tyrion, which were both well deserved. He also had the misfortune of appearing as a regular cast member in Brannon Braga's defunct "Threshold" TV series. Thank God that didn't last to taint his career.

Thanks for the info. I hear your frustration. I too would have been disappointed if there was something grander to be had. However I didn't know about that, so it played well for me.
Thankfully they don't blame the actors for terrible writing on a TV show!

You're talking about Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister. Great actor!

Usually when you click on youtube links on android it will ask you if you want to open it in your internet browser, or on the youtube app. I'm using a samsung galaxy s2. Try installing the youtube app on your andriod, then it might give you the option...

I already have the YouTube App pre-installed on my Android device, and have always been able to see the YouTube videos here in the postings. It's only since I upgraded to 4.1 apparently that I can no longer see them here.
But thanks for the suggestion nonetheless.

Unreal.
