SPOILERS - Season Two Finale
SPOILERS
SPOILERS
SPOILERS
I loved tonight's episode, but I wish some things were different.
I wish they hadn't killed off the Red Eyed Skitter. He added so much to the show, and brought real credibility to the idea that some skitters want to join with humans to rebel against the Overlords. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."
I also wish they hadn't killed off Dai. I'm still trying to adjust to Jimmy being killed in the third episode, and Jamil being killed in the seventh. Okay, it's war, but IMO, the main cast is small enough that TPTB shouldn't keep killing off secondary characters. They need red shirt characters!
I'm relieved that the Second Mass killed the Overlord. Unfortunately, the harnessed blonde Karen got her revenge even before that happened; did the aliens suspect something? At any rate, I'm so sorry that Hal has been possessed, so to speak, by an alien bug in his system. I dislike it even more that, within the first minute, he was already enjoying being evil.
I also don't like it that the group doesn't learn from mistakes. Something happened to Hal after that close encounter with Karen. Why assume he just needs rest? Why not handcuff him to the bed? Why not leave someone to watch him, and post a guard outside the door? They're really not suspicious enough after these encounters.
Loved the introduction of a third alien race. Now what?

I'm wondering if you and I are the only two on this board watching.
SPOILERS
I pretty much agree with what you said. Hmmm...Hal was just kissed by an alien and is unconscious. Let's leave him alone because nothing could have possibly happened to him.
That was just dumb.
I don't like that plot at all because it's too repetitive of what happened with Ben.
The finale showed a new alien entering the fray. I think it would be better if it were an ally rather than another enemy. Start turning the tide a little.

I agree and I hope that's the case. Ben said the big weapon they destroyed wasn't to take out humans. I thought that meant maybe there was another alien race out there, or a battle group of skitters, that wanted to land and help.

I'm wondering if you and I are the only two on this board watching. I've seen all of the episodes, including last night's finale, and while the show has shown some notable improvement this season, it nevertheless reverted to type in last night's season ender in certain respects, which is what I've feared and expected. I like Jessy Schram even though she's not always in it, and I expect we'll be seeing even less of her come next season unless ABC's new fall show "Last Resort" tanks and gets canceled quickly. Perhaps I'll say more and will get into some further details when I'm not writing and posting from my Android device, which can be a bit annoying.

The biggest problem here is that there will be a 10 month wait until the show returns. That's a very long time to end on a cliffhanger.
10 months from now, all I'll remember is that they went to Charleston and that there was a new alien race.
I'm hoping the race is an ally, but it's also possible they can be a greater enemy, and if that's the case, then that could lead to the humans fighting alongside the aliens that destroyed Earth in the first place, which I wouldn't like.
I'm hoping the new race represents the cavalry, not the greater threat.

If they're going to be true-to-form sappy and stupid, this new species will turn out to be an ally that will help them to win the day.

Eventually, that's what's supposed to happen--unless you're V.

Over at Blastr:TNT wants more Falling Skies, confirms there'll be a 4th seasonBy Krystal Clark Tue, 07/02/2013 - 5:13pm The sci-fi genre is thriving on cable. TNT just announced alien-centric Falling Skies has been renewed for another season.

It's an interesting show, because it's about 13 episodes, and airs once a year. That's a long gap between episodes, so traditional cliffhangers really are not a good idea.
I like that TV is doing more summer programming. TNT has done a good job there.

We watch Falling Skies, but I'm not happy about some things.
I don't like it that Tom and Anne's baby is alien.
I don't like it that Cochise was taken away from Tom and his group.
I don't like it that, last season, Hal was infected with something alien, and it's taken him over. He's become less interesting since this happened.
I don't like it that there's a mole in the group. Dunno if it's Hal, or yet another traitor in their midst.
Lastly, I don't like it that Anne bashed the underground engineer over the head, and may have killed him. It was fun to see Robert Sean Leonard (House's sidekick) in that role, and I was hoping he might be a regular.

Well, the alien baby is a mystery that needs to be explained.
I'm sure Cochise will be back.
The Hal situation seems to be resolved.
I suspect there is another mole.
I thought the engineer is ok, but I could be wrong.

I suspect there is another mole. I thought the engineer is ok, but I could be wrong. There is another mole ...the coming attractions for next week also made that clear. And yes, the scientist is fine. We've seen him after what she did, and she just knocked him out.

Good! When I wrote that, the latest episode wasn't out. I had checked Leonard's credits, and only three FS episodes were listed. I was afraid that's all there was.
