This guy should proofread for punctuation at least.
Sci Fi Trifles: Star Trek TAS was Originally Intended to be Kid Trek Saturday, August 25, 2012 Star Trek: The Animated Series continued the adventures of the crew of the USS Enterprise four years after the cancellation of the original series and it is recognized for sticking close to the spirit of its predecessor and for its accomplishments among sci fi animated TV shows. But did you know that an early plan for the series would have had it deliver a very different type of show which would have basically been a kiddified version of Star Trek. I always enjoyed TAS and I've recently been re-watching it on Netflix. I have not seen it since I was about 12. That's been a few years. ;D

I've been watching TAS on netflix recently. It's not as good as TOS or anything, but I do like how they took full advantage of the fact that it was animated, and created more "fantastic" aliens than even later Star Trek did.

Totally. Today, they could make some great aliens and the animation is obviously much better, but I'd be worried that the writers wouldn't be good enough.
Done right, with good writers, an animated TOS series could be the best Star Trek since the original series itself.
