While watching the movie, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, I heard a familiar name, Rura Penthe, a penal colony.
I looked it up. The name was first used in 1869, as a penal colony in Tolstoy's War and Peace, then in 1954 in 20,000 Leagues, then again in 1991 in Star Trek VI, The Undiscovered Country. It was also mentioned in two ST Enterprise episodes in 2003.
Maybe the rest of you knew the name's origin, but this was news to me!
