I was watching "The Perfect Mate" a few weeks ago for the first time in a long time and noticed something. There's a scene where Kamala (was that her name?) is with Riker in her quarters and really coming on to him and he politely rebuffs her then leaves. But the scene ends with him calling the bridge and saying, "If anyone needs me, I'll be in holodeck 4." I think this is the first sly reference to masturbation on the show, and certainly the first insinuation of the holodecks being used for that purpose. Just thought it was funny they went there for an amusing button on the scene.

I'm not sure exactly how or why you drew that conclusion, since I'm inclined to doubt that was the intention. However, I'd have to see it because offhand I don't remember what you're talking about at all, or even what the episode was about. I also don't see why Riker would go to the Holodeck to masturbate when he had a willing member of the opposite sex throwing herself at him just prior to his making that Comm Link announcement.
