A day late, but not a dollar short.
Over at Blastr:Deep space, here we come! NASA developing a real warp drive Oh, warp drive. It's the stuff of pure science fiction, and propels ships in Star Trek to brave new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations. But give NASA a few years, and warp speed may become sci-fact instead of sci-fi. MORE: blastr.com/2012/09/deep-space-here-we-come-n.php

I'll believe it when I see it. IF we ever see it. This is not a new theory --it's relatively new in the grand scheme of things, but it's been around almost two decades. It's just that NASA is finally actively looking at and pursuing it now apparently.
I learned of this a few years back. If anyone wants to read a little about it, here are a few links that should be helpful:Alcubierre driveen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcubierre_driveMiguel Alcubierreen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miguel_Alcubierre
