Tonight is the premiere of Arrow on CW. Looking forward to it.
I'll be at the Yankees game, so I won't be able to see it live, but hopefully it is good.

Over at Digital Spy:'Arrow' pilot review: Our verdict The CW This writer was never a fan of Smallville - The CW's previous take on a DC Comics property - and though the cast and crew of Arrow repeatedly insisted that the two shows are radically different, the thought of the gritty Green Arrow character being fed through a teen TV filter still didn't appeal much. The opening moments of Arrow threatened to prove me wrong though - a dynamic, flashily-directed opening sequence in which Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) traverses the remote island he's been stranded on for five years, before signaling to a passing ship with a flaming arrow, drew me in immediately But just as quickly as it had won me over, this pilot episode stumbled - Queen's grizzled, melodramatic voiceover about being "the man who will bring justice to those who have poisoned my city" suggested that Arrow was going to be exactly the kind of show I had feared it to be. This review was written by someone who didn't want to like the show. That kind of hurt the review. He was more looking for reasons not to like it than to be unbiased. Other reviews were much different.
Green Arrow is kind of Batman-ish because he was kind of a Batman rip off.
They seem to be taking liberties with the character, but given that he's a second tier hero at best, that's fine.
It's not like Superman. Never was a fan of bringing in Lois Lane on Smallville, though I did love Erica Durance's performance.
If the show is a hit, I wonder if they will eventually bring in other heroes like they did on Smallville.

Is the show worth watching? I've got the first few but not had a chance to watch yet.

Different tone than Smallville, but if you liked one, you'll like the other.

Different tone than Smallville, but if you liked one, you'll like the other. So far I've found it to be somewhat less sappy than "Smallville", which was very sappy much of the time. It has a harder, darker edge in terms of vigilante justice, although I wouldn't be surprised if that gets toned down. And thus far it has been limited to a lead character with extraordinary (even unbelievable) human ability, but without supernatural superpowers. I wish it would stay that way, but I doubt it will given that they're already looking to bring other DC characters into the show, and we've seen Deadshot, even though he didn't amount to a whole lot in the one episode he appeared in.
I had no intention of even watching this show initially, but have decided to stick with it for the time being. I'm annoyed that they aired a new episode this week even though it didn't appear in the Guide, so Imissed it. I believe it's being aired again this Sunday at 8:00 though, so I'll have to record it if they haven't changed their scheduling plans yet again before then.

Ben Browder is going to guest star. I guess that has sealed my reasons for needing to watch the show now!

"IGN has learned that we’ll be meeting another new DC character in the show’s 11th episode, as Ted Gaynor is introduced, played by Ben Browder.
On Arrow, Gaynor is Diggle’s commanding officer from his first tour in Afghanistan, who now works as a bodyguard for Blackhawk Squad Protection Group in Starling City. As a series of armored truck robberies strike the city, Gaynor proves to be a polarizing figure between Oliver (Stephen Amell) and Diggle (David Ramsey)."

I wonder if it's recurring or just a one time appearance!
