I just posted a message on the article Page in reaction to this jerk. I didn't even bother to read beyond the second paragraph of the piece. I know these smug Hollywood elitists jerks are free to say what they want, but I'm sick of it, and they should be put in their place by average folk more often than they are -- maybe then a few of them will finally shut the hell up.

Yeah, I found it just terribly unfunny and another example of Whedon drowning in his own sense of his own cleverness. Even given a joke set-up like this about zombies, the fact is even his criteria had nothing to do with zombies! He might think he's being cute, but if you're going to make an anti-Romney ad saying he causes a zombie apocalypse, then you have to define how the zombies come in. I can't think of any scenario where an apocalypse PRECEDES the rise of zombies anyway.
And yes, typical Hollywood liberal pulling the "rich republicans don't care about poor people and will lead to the end of civilization". Never mind that Obama's exorbitant ideas will end up raising taxes on the middle class by necessity. And never mind that really Presidents don't make policy, pass laws or create jobs anyway. Jeez, this is why I wish electors were just allowed to vote their conscience and the populace wasn't all enmeshed in this voting process like they shouldn't be.
oh, and as to the whole class divide... didn't the "occupy" movement start on Obama's watch? I wish parties had never developed in this country, especially for presidents.
And I'm not saying this as a Romney supporter either. Living in Massachusetts has given me enough of Romney. He wasn't a bad governor overall. But when he says he never raised taxes, that is true; but he did hike up fees on a bunch of things. Because you have to balance the budget, and Mass-holes like their cushy government programs. And I cannot forgive him for his health care plan which, no matter what he tells you, does NOT work. If you're poor, you technically can get coverage, but not everyone takes it. Some places look at you like it's confederate money. So really, if you have useless insurance, that's a waste. And I consider it extortion to fine people if they don't have insurance. His plan is really no better than Obama's, and I will forever hold that against him. Having said that, I respect that he never took a salary as governor so more money went where needed. So I'm not really whole-heartedly in support of either candidate. But I do hate when the liberal argument is "electing this guy will be the end of civilization!"
This piece fails as humor, as it could have been more clever. It fails as political ad for being incredibly naive and short-sided. It fails at defining its own zombie criteria. Even if I disagree with it but it was clever I would give him that, but it's not. It's like one day he just thought of the word Zomney, and tried to do something with it.
Lame, Joss.

When a Hollywood person talks politics, I just ignore it if it's the left wing extremism. Right wing, I'll read with curiosity because it goes against the norm, but ultimately, I don't care what actors think.

I can't stand listening to these guys either. I don't respect their opinions because, they don't live in the real world. Fame , sometimes by necessity, insulates you from every day life. Most espouse very Liberal views because it's easy for them to feel this way. They can afford a Hybrid car, be Green, etc. Reality seldom visits their door. But whatever their views, I just don't care. You're an actor or a producer. Do your job and shut up. ;D

Not to mention if you tell them to write a bigger check to the US Treasury, they don't.

Not to mention if you tell them to write a bigger check to the US Treasury, they don't. Speaking of which, George Lucas sold his company and the rights to "Star Wars" to Disney now because otherwise he'd have to pay a lot more in taxes come next year. And how much do you want to bet that Lucas will be voting for Obama this Tuesday, if he hasn't cast his ballot for him already?
