It looks that way, but let's not forget that they totally changed everything in the prime universe, and while theoretically that shouldn't have affected the Mirror universe from the original series, who's to say what kind of ripple affects there may be.

It could be a mirror universe to the Abrams universe, but then they'd have to get there under different circumstances.
