Has anyone here been following this show? If not, I recommend it. This Friday at 10 PM they're having a mini-marathon and will air the first five episodes back-to-back. If you haven't given it a look I'd say record them and then sample it at your own convenience. Initially I wasn't even sure if I wanted to bother with this series at all, but decided on the day it was premiering that I would give it a chance. It starts off okay but then starts getting even better rather quickly. Check it out and then maybe we can chat about it here too.

Dang, read this too late to catch the reruns. I'm recording and watching The Following, with Kevin Bacon, for those who are interested.

My provider has the first four episodes up "Free On Demand", with the other one coming shortly. If you have cable service then you should have "Free On Demand" programming available to you too.

I'm recording and watching The Following, with Kevin Bacon, for those who are interested. I've been following The Following since it premiered. It's slowly improved (the more they ease away from the hamfisted Poe stuff the better). The one a couple weeks ago was really strong, and though this week's was something of a letdown, they are keeping it going okay. I don't see this series having legs though. I don't think they can spin this out for years. I think it's got one solid season in it, maybe two and will probably eke out to three but it won't be the same. It's getting something of a 24 feel right now, but it doesn't seem the type of show that can almost completely retool in season two. Like all these high-concept pilots, they rarely can last as long-running series. Once the guys on Prison Break break out, what's left? So I'd rather this series be short-lived and strong and not peter out over several years. -TK

I hadn't heard of it. I did an online search about Dish, saw how it works, and tried it on my TV. Dish offers "Movies on Demand," at a cost of $4.99 each. I clicked on TV (didn't say On Demand, just TV). There are shows listed, but nothing I've heard of. Americans is not on the list. I can't tell if these are free. I can't imagine Dish giving us anything for free!

The cable companies put up shows "Free On Demand", so you can watch most of them that way should you miss the broadcast airing. Satellite service doesn't have the bandwidth of cable, so it's more difficult for them to provide to their customers, hence they don't do it. Pay-Per-View is probably already more than they could handle in that regard as things stand.
If they have another marathon of "The Americans" I'll post about it here, but you'll need to check this forum more frequently. The fact that you don't is why you missed my last announcement pertaining to their mini-marathon.

Thanks for the explanation. I didn't know that cable offers more features, so to speak, than satellite!
