Sirtis’ character, Orli Elbaz, will take over the Israeli intelligence organization Mossad, following the death of Ziva’s father Eli David (Michael Nouri). “The search to replace Eli David as Mossad Director was tricky for us, but we ended up with a true find in Marina Sirtis,” said NCIS showrunner Gary Glasberg on casting Sirtis. “I’ve always been a Star Trek… Read More » www.treknews.net/2013/03/25/marina-sirtis-ncis-orli-elbaz/

Hmm...
Does this mean she'll be using her Israeli accent again that she used when she first started doing Troi? Gotta say, I got really tired of Troi in later movies and appearances where it was clear Sirtis wasn't trying anymore and had just decided Troi was British.

Whew, for a second I thought this meant that Michael Nouri had died. Seems to be alive and well.
In 2005, Marina played an Iranian woman on The Closer (Kyra Sedgwick). My hearing isn't good enough to rate her accent, but in that episode, she made a credible Iranian.
Btw, I'm watching The Following on TV, starring Kevin Bacon. It's an intriguing concept. As you may know, come September, Kevin and Kyra will have been married for 25 years.

My bf still regrets that Marina never played Wonder Woman in a movie. Apparently he feels she has all the right assets in all the right places, but hey, I hope you set him straight and told him you wouldn't have watched such a movie even if she had because it would only have made for a very shallow production.

Marina could never have pulled off Wonder Woman on her best day. Not that kind of girl.

I dunno how good Marina would have been, but she sure would have made a short Wonder Woman! Did WW look short in the original comic books? When I was a kid, I admired WW (and was glad there was a female super hero) but I don't recall her image clearly from back then. In my mind's eye, I see Lynda Carter, which may be why I also expect WW's eyes to be blue.

Marina could never have pulled off Wonder Woman on her best day. Not that kind of girl. She was too short for one thing, and I could never have envisioned her taking on that role myself,.
