I love the way these two great guys sum up The Original Crew's chemistry and how George Lucas or Steven Spielberg would have ruined it, kind of like what JJ Abrams did with Star Trek 2009, but most especially Into Darkness, in reviews from 1986 and 1991... One major quibble, these two actually said on their 1984 At the Movies review that Star Trek III: The Search for Spock is a pretty good sequel below and not lumped in as bad by Ebert herein. Roger also said in his 1979 Chicago Sun Times *** review of Star Trek: The Motion Picture www.rogerebert.com/reviews/star-trek-the-motion-picture-1979, "My inclination, as I slid down in my seat and the stereo sound surrounded me, was to relax and let the movie give me a good time. I did and it did." Then Siskel says it's a good series, particularly Star Trek II, on their 1986 Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home review above!

I enjoy watching Siskel defend Insurrection.
I was ticked at Ebert for writing off Nemesis just because "I'm so tired of explosions". His review was like "oh, the consoles are sparking again? Yawn." I seriously wish we could have heard his opinion of Into Darkness.
