I wish I had seen Ender's Game on the big screen! It was fabulous on our TV! Loved the FX and the look of the main alien. I'm not fond of Harrison Ford, but at least he didn't distract from the movie. I did wonder if Graff's ruthlessness would become a problem.
TK, back on the AOL boards, you highly recommended reading Ender's Game. I wish I'd read it then! I plan to read it soon. It was published in 1985. A favorite episode of TNG is The Survivors, is about a man who, when his wife was killed, wiped out an entire species with his thoughts. "You don't understand the scope of my crime." I wonder if the writers were thinking about Ender's Game?

Glad you enjoyed it. I wish more people had seen it. They changed a few things and truncated it a lot, but I thought the movie was good. If you liked the movie, I think you'll like the book. The sequel, "Speaker for the Dead" is different, but is better in many ways. But the next few books are not great. You may also like "Ender's Shadow", which runs parallel with Ender's Game, and follows Bean as the main character. I really wish they had shot an Ender's Shadow movie while they were making Ender's Game. -TK

I'm waiting for it to get on netflix. I haven't heard anything about it, but I did see a trailer, and it's worth the look.

We got our copy from Netflix, so it should be there. It was immediately available for rent, which was sad. It deserves a line of people waiting to see it. As an example for anyone who doesn't use Netflix, Captain Phillips and Thor: The Dark World have a very long wait.
One week until The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is available! That will have a long line, but it be worth the wait. We're really looking forward to it.

Catching Fire was better than the first one. I read the books, so I know the story.
