I started watching Dallas season 3 . It looks good so far. They are really letting the younger actors run the show. Josh Henderson has really stepped up to the plate as John Ross. With Hagman gone it looks like J.R.'s son will be bringing lots of havoc to South Fork. He's a chip off the old block.

I am a HUGE fan of the new Dallas, and was a huge fan of the original.
What you have here is a lesson for all people who want to bring back an old show.
Notice what they did. They have original actors involved, and they are not just in cameo roles. They play their roles, older, but are as strong a part of the show as ever.
Hagman was at the top of his game when he died, and part of that was because the writers were good. They knew they had to inject more than just the original characters, and they did.
When JR died, the show could have tanked but it didn't because the writers are good. John Ross has to become his father. They need a JR on that show, and it's fortunate that they cast an actor that absolutely is worthy of taking on such a task.
Abrams could learn from Cynthia Cidre and her staff.
