IDW has published an ongoing series that takes place in the post-Nero timeline, and at least for the first bunch of comics, puts the post-Nero versions into the TOS episodes. In some cases, they improved on things, though in most cases, the original episodes were better. However, I'm making this thread a general thread because I just came across STAR TREK ANNUAL 2013, which can be described as a photo-comic. It takes place in the prime universe, during the 5 year mission. Instead of drawings, they used images from the original series, but photoshopped to come off as a new adventure. This story was one that could easily have worked, though never would have been done in the 1960s because TOS never really did follow up episodes. On the rare occasion where one character returned or one episode was referenced, the story rarely was so much a follow up as it was a different story that really could have stood alone and didn't require any real knowledge. This story was a followup to Where No Man, and while not perfect, was a pretty cool sequel. I guess it was successful, because another photo-comic is coming out in the spring.
