It's pretty clear to me that he didn't quit *just* because it was a "gay part". Rather, precisely because he knew that True Blood was a show that pushes the envelope, he wasn't going to get away with just being "gay" or "bisexual". I think he knew it would involve heaps of nudity and semi-graphic dude on dude sex and he drew the line there. And I can't blame him if when he was cast the role was one thing and then suddenly it became something else. By the way, is it a "gay" part if the character is suddenly bisexual? Bi and gay aren't synonymous. Or are there? I can't keep the "progressive" agenda straight anymore [no pun intended]. Mary Martin notoriously wouldn't use swear words onstage. There are just some actors who won't do certain things and why can't people just accept that? -TK
