Did anyone catch the pilot of this show?
Without getting into spoilers, I thought it was the best pilot of the new season.

Did anyone catch the pilot of this show? Without getting into spoilers, I thought it was the best pilot of the new season. Spoiler Warning . . . I thought it was.okay, but not great. I thought the big reveal between Allen and Joe West came too soon. They could have let that simmer and play out for a while longer. I'm also not sure how I feel about their now going in the direction of superheroes with superhuman extraordinary powers. One of the things I've liked about "Arrow" is that he's just a regular guy without any of those attributes, but even with that show, I'm now getting annoyed with their constantly expanding and CHANGING Oliver's backstory, although I suppose that's a discussion for another thread. That last scene in "The Flash" was interesting. I'm wondering if the reason that character had access to the info he had was also a result of the particle collider accident. We'll know at some point whether that's the case or not obviously.

I'm wondering if he's a time traveler. Barry has connections to the future, and was actually there when Crisis hit. This is a clear reference to Crisis, and opens the door to so many things.
Arrow takes place in the DCU. People in the DCU have powers. I'm loving the new direction.

I'm more impressed with "Gotham" to tell you the truth, and maybe that's even one of the underlining reasons as to why it's growing on me, because it's the antithesis of "The Flash" and closer to "Arrow". But I didn't begin watching "Gotham" with high hopes of any kind. If it turned out to be a disappointment, it would have amounted to no big deal, because I wasn't invested in it one way or the other going in. But the writers and production crew have surprised me. They're successfully painting the City into a character and the whole place just basically crumbling and descending into chaos and Hell, and have even got the ugly down already with respect to the villains. They've set the right tone and atmosphere already, and have done it in just a few episodes. I'm enjoying that show more than I expected to and am looking forward to where it goes and how it develops. "The Flash", not so much. Not at this early stage anyway.

See for me, it's the opposite--I like that it's starting to go the superhero route. Gotham isn't a bad show at all, but the pilot didn't impress me as much as the Flash one did.
The fact that they ended with a potential mention of Crisis On Infinite Earths, means that the show could go in directions that only the best of DC can do.
Gotham is more typical of recent superhero shows, which don't actually feature the superhero.
My favorite parts about Gotham are the scenes with Bruce Wayne. I actually want to see more from the kid.
