Ok, on my cable system, on FREE on demand movies, I found a 2012 movie called Chronicle, which is a sci-fi/superhero type movie with a low budget.
Three teenagers end up with the ability to do telekinesis, and we follow their lives as they learn their powers. The climax of the movie is really good.
I was surprised how good this movie is, and then when I looked it up, it got nominated for a Saturn for Best Sci Fi Picture.
I don't know if this movie is on your cable system for free, but it's only an 82 minute film, and it's very good.
I don't want to say more without spoilers, but I'm curious if I'm the only one here who has seen it.

I made it a point to see that film once it hit premium cable. I had already known about it and heard pretty good things about it, and it turned out to be about as good as I had been expecting. I believe they're also working on a sequel to it, unless that has since fallen through the cracks.

I think it may have. They had the original writer on it, and according to google, he posted his rejected synopsis.
Basically, he was doing a Marvel like universe on a smaller scale, so the next movie wouldn't have anything to do with the first movie, but have another character in the same universe.
I actually feel the studio got it right.

Oh, I remember that. I watched it at least a year ago on Netflix. I gave it five stars.
