I'm looking for a some SF books to read this summer (I'm not into fantasy.) So far, I've come up with the list below. Anyone care to comment or add or this list? Thanks.
- A Fire Upon the Deep, and the prequel, A Deepness in the Sky, by Vernor Vinge.
- On Basilisk Station, by David Weber.
- Red Mars, followed by Green Mars and Blue Mars, by Kim Stanley Robinson
- Cryptonomicon, by Neal Stephenson
- Doomsday Book, by Connie Willis
- Beggars in Spain, by Nancy Kress

Someone a "hard SF" book to me, Blindsight by Peter Watts. I got excited thinking I'd love it, then read a brief summary. Vampires! OMG. How can vampires and/or zombies exist in hard SF books??
