They're officially gone, unless enough complaints get them back.

All good things must come to an end. That's what keeps life interesting.

It is sad that they are gone. America Online was my first provider in 1995. You made a nice replacement board!

Trying. We just need the people. I'm guessing that it's not beyond the realm of impossibility that AOL may cave and bring them back. But we'll see.
I signed on to AOL in 1994 in a reaction to Generations, which when I first saw it, didn't appreciate just how lousy Kirk's death was. It hit me more in the weeks that followed.

I signed on in 1999, but the only reason I stuck around so long was because of the Trek and Sci Fi boards. Not much reason to keep an AOL account anymore. Glad to see this board resurrected though...

I don't see myself keeping my AOL account much longer. I started with them around 1999 or 2000. It's considered an Internet anachronism these days but I used to like them a lot. I will miss the boards but it's their loss.

I still use AOL for another email, and given that there's no cost, I see no reason NOT to keep that address. But I don't know how often I'll log in as Crambam on AOL. No major reason.
I suppose I'll keep the account alive as long as I am.

You know what sucks? I still have the instinct to go on AOL and check the old boards.
Worse, DC Comics did the exact same thing AOL did and ditched their longtime boards too.
