Well I finally went to Redbox and parted with a $1.59 to watch Star Trek: Beyond. I would not have been the least bit interested except that I had heard that fans of the other 2 Abrams Abortions didn't like it and many people said it was the closest NuTrek flick to the original style of Star Trek. Much to my shock and surprise, they were right. This is the closest the New films have come to the spirit of the original Trek. I actually felt that these actors were playing characters that I knew. Heck I even enjoyed the silly but fun Beastie Boys Sabotage sequence. I could easily see the original cast doing this script. It's a shame it took 3 movies to get it right.
