Hello everyone. Lovely to see new posts in here to read! Good to see you guys.
I thought I'd share that my handicapped niece received her $600 stimulus check on January 1, 2021. TPTB said they'd get them out quickly, but I never expected this! The rest of us are looking forward to ours.

I got mine too, but honestly, I think it would be better to just open the country. We have a vaccine, and if people are careful, they will be ok. States that are open don't seem to have higher death rates than states that are not.
The stimulus check is nominal and it doesn't solve the problem at all.
I'm guessing that those that have things set up electronically already got theirs.

There's four of us, me, my brother, his wife, and Miranda. We all have electronic accounts. Only Miranda got hers, so far.
I marveled at how quickly she got it because it took about four months to get her first one, and her mom's took about seven months. I did the Get My Payment for her mom back then, but it didn't help. I finally had to file a return for her mom to get it.

If there's one thing that can't be predicted, it's the US government.

I haven't, but I'm an essential worker and am at the office full-time, so I suspect I'm on the back end, which is fine by me. This country is broke as it is, and this whole thing is ridiculous. This thing has been grossly overblown and has been used for nefarious ends by certain political figures in my opinion. In the beginning we were told it would be a fifteen-day shutdown just to flatten the curve, and here we are, approaching a year later. Absurd. Oh, and by the way ...I had it.

I'm glad you survived it. Hopefully it was a mild case and it didn't land you in the hospital. Fully recovered?
I've been a full time worker too--still got it. I don't think it has anything to do with it. But I'm sure it will come.

I am very suspicious that I had it too a year ago. I had a sudden low-grade fever that knocked me out for a few days and after that I was fine, though with some periodic breathing difficulty. This was a few days before the first US cases were announced, and of course we now know there were cases here before that. I too am really tired of the two steps backward every month. It truly is getting ridiculous.

You never really know unless you got tested for the antibodies. I thought I MIGHT have had it also around March, but I tested negative for the antibodies so it was something different.

I don't think it has anything to do with it. But I'm sure it will come. The first week when the shutdown went into effect I felt extremely weak the entire week. I didn't know what to make of it. I started wondering if maybe I had cancer or something like that because even though I've gotten sick on many occasions over the course of my life, it had never been like that. I didn't think it was C-19 for some reason. Then the beginning of the next week (week 2 of the shutdown) I started to experience symptoms. I called my doctor's office, which was closed because of the pandemic, and a little while later he called me back and told me I had the virus. I thought it was strange because he hadn't tested me, but he was sure. It turned out he was right. When I finally was able to get tested, well after the fact, after I had been better for some time, it turned out I had antibodies. I still had a high antibodies count in September, when I had myself tested for the hell of it, even though I was sick with it in early April. It took about two and a half weeks to get over it. One of my bosses also had it at the same time I did and it took him a good 18 days to get over it. Whether one of us gave it to the other simply by being in close proximity to each other in the office, or if I just happened to pick it up outside going to or from work, I'll never know. Fortunately I wasn't hospitalized, and never lost my sense of taste or smell. When I heard the horror stories of the people that ended up dead or on a ventilator, I of course felt extremely fortunate. Having had it also made going back to the office regularly starting in June less of a risk for me. I was told I would be okay until at least fall, but they didn't know how susceptible I would be to getting it again after then. Yeah, I was lucky. A lot of people weren't. 2020 really was a sucky year.

Well, as of January 20th, this year doesn't look so sucky to me. Turns out if one hasn't received the second Covid check by now, they won't. The bill was written so that checks could be distributed through January 15, then stop. The rest of us will have to file a return to get that payment.

Not that I've been holding my breath for it at all, because I haven't, but the government has been finding ways to screw me all of my life, and by the sound of our new and illegitimate president, they're going all out on screwing over people like me, so this is just classic. It's what I've come to expect, given the life that I've had. Thanks for the update, Mel ...I think.

I guess I don't know how it works. I don't know why I got one and others don't. It just appeared.
Things are about to get really bad.
And then when they do, they will blame Trump.

I guess I don't know how it works. I don't know why I got one and others don't. It just appeared. Things are about to get really bad. And then when they do, they will blame Trump. A couple of things here . . . - The election was clearly stolen by the Demonrats, and at least half the country is aware of it, and in time hopefully more people will begin to realize it. That's why they and Big Tech are trying to further their big lie by silencing the people that don't agree with them. So even though they'll attempt to blame Trump, since that is a tried and true tactic in their bag of tricks, I don't believe they'll be able to sell it this time because too many people are now on to them and their bs. - We're still in big trouble regardless because even though roughly half the country that has paid attention and is pretty aware of what's going on, the Dems are openly stealing elections now nevertheless, and at this point there's nothing to stop them. So yes, things are going to get much, much worse in the coming years. I wish there was a solution, but frankly, I don't see one.

No doubt this is useless, as you've heard it and seen it all before, but here goes:
How did the SCOTUS reactions to two lawsuits, and 61 (of 62) state lawsuits, not persuade you? Many of the judges who sat on those state trials were lifelong Republicans, not RINOs.
One party-line Republican judge questioned Rudy sharply about his allegations not being proof. He asked Rudy if he would be presenting evidence of fraud. Rudy had to admit that the lawsuit wasn't a case of fraud. A clip of Rudy stating that aired many times. Other lawyers in other courts also alleging fraud also had to admit that the cases weren't about fraud, and/or they had no evidence to present.
You can't just claim fraud, as Trump likes to do. In court, you must be able to prove it. If an attorney claims fraud but has no proof, and the attorney's claim wasn't made in good faith, an attorney can be disbarred. That's why Rudy owned up to it; he didn't want to get disbarred. Trump's other lawyers also knew they were unable to provide evidence of wrongdoing. Most of the suits were dismissed because of lack of evidence. If there was such widespread fraud, as Trump claimed, why isn't there any proof?
There were also claims that voting machines changed votes. Dominion and other voting machine companies sued and/or threatened to sue Fox News, OAN and Max News. These stations aired statements acknowledging that there was no proof that the machines had changed votes. I saw some of those statements on Fox News (yes, I watch it).
Did 74 million people vote for Trump? Absolutely. But 81 million voted for Biden.
A lot of them were Republicans, not just Rinos, but party-line Republicans who, in good conscious, could not vote for Trump a second time. They're the same ones, among others, who helped turn Georgia purple.

A lot of them were Republicans, not just Rinos, but party-line Republicans who, in good conscious, could not vote for Trump a second time. They're the same ones, among others, who helped turn Georgia purple. Mel, You're all wet. Rudy changed his argument in hopes of getting his case to the Supreme Court. No other courts would touch it because they were on the left, wanted Trump out, or were cowardly and afraid to touch it. Do you think they wanted BLM and Antifa showing up at their homes and harassing their families? Nope, of course not, and that includes the Justices on the Supreme Court. Texas and the seventeen other States that joined them in their lawsuit had a totally legitimate case that the Supreme Court should have heard. They were indeed disenfranchised by the battleground States that used their courts to go around their legislatures and unconstitutionally change the voting laws in those states and so relax standards that ballots that would and should have been disqualified were counted. Why do you think they switched to mail-in ballots? Covid was just an excuse. Mail-in ballots are the easiest way to commit vote fraud, and your beloved party knows that full well, which is exactly why they did it. Why did they launch over 300 hundred lawsuits leading into the election last year to change voting laws and relax standards in those swing states? So they could cheat! And cheat is exactly what they did. You would have us believe that a candidate, who campaigned mainly out of his basement, got the most votes of any candidate for the presidency in the history of the country. Are you high? Are you getting any medical marijuana over there by chance for you or members of your family? And if it was all really on the up-and-up, why was your beloved party so against recounts? Why did they try to make Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz out to be Nazis for wanting a ten-day audit of the election results? What were they so afraid of? And that's the problem. Nothing I say will change your mind because you want to believe Biden won, and the fact that Big Tech censored a series of NY Post articles about Hunter Biden's abandoned laptop that he left at a repair shop, with all sorts evidence of malfeasance on it, pointing to both him and his father, is irrelevant to you as well, if you're even aware of that story. Tony Bobulinski, Mel ...have you heard of him? Do you even know who he is and the things he alleged about about Joe and Hunter? So Big Tech had a hand in this heist also because they went out of their way to squelch an important news story and keep it from the American people. They are complicit. Unfortunately President Trump had far too many forces arrayed against him. He was right. He did win. He got eleven to twelve million more votes than he got in 2016. An incumbent that performs that well doesn't lose. He also received a record number of black and Hispanic votes, and we have been told for years that any Republican candidate for the presidency that managed to do that would win hands down. And none of what I just told you even touches on the mathematic improbabilities and impossibilities that were involved in what we saw play out in the election. How is it that Biden got just the number of votes he needed in just the right four districts in order to pull off the win, while performing poorly everywhere else in the country? I could go on and on about this, but the bottom line is your party stole the presidency, blatantly and brazenly, and I have not a shred of doubt about it. And if there was really nothing to hide, why were Republican poll watchers being treated so shabbily and prevented from doing the jobs they were there to do, which was just to monitor the counting in the counting centers? Instead they were ejected, and windows were covered up so people couldn't see inside. Your candidates couldn't draw flies when they did appear publicly in less than a handful of public appearances that they made in the weeks before the election, and it wasn't because of Covid. There was no enthusiasm for them or their campaign, and that's the reality. And that's also why there was no crowd at the inauguration. Again, it wasn't because of Covid. It was because they knew hardly no one would show up. So spare me. Your party is a bunch of crooked bastards. They robbed Trump of a second term he really won, and they know it, and so does half the country.

I said I watch Fox News, so yes, I know who Tucker Carlson says Tony Bobulinski is. We disagree, as we both suspected, and I will leave it at that. Who Tucker says he is? It doesn't sound as though you saw the full-hour interview he did with Bobulinksi in the weeks prior to the election. The mainstream media and Big Tech kept that story from the public. We had a right to know about it but were instead deliberately kept in the dark so Big Tech could get in the ticket they favored. Does that sound like America to you, or does it sound like something darker and more sinister? I don't know to what extent you watch Fox News or Tucker, but that network burned themselves big time on the night of the election, and now they're paying for it, and they may never fully recover, and it serves them right. And yes, the election was rigged, whether you want to believe it or not.

When Trump was elected, I was taken by complete surprise. From that moment on, I began watching Fox and OAN along with CNN and MSNBC. To be honest, I found OAN too annoying so I stopped.
As to how often I watch, I try to keep it even. If I watch 2 hours of CNN and MSNBC, then I watch two hours of Fox. When airing public speeches, I switch back and forth. Ditto for the commentary afterward.
I found it interesting that Fox aired every minute of a Trump stump, even when he rambled. Often Fox edits what the Dems say down to a few words, and, IMO, deliberately edits that to be awkward.
