Now if only they would reissue it on DVD. It’s been out of print too long. But this is a start. Perhaps it will renew interest in the series. And with Furlan’s recent passing, that’s sadly free publicity that might draw some more eyes.

And with Furlan’s recent passing, that’s sadly free publicity that might draw some more eyes. It's 4:3, but that's consistent with how the special effects scenes were intended to be viewed, so I will likely purchased the new version when it comes out on Blu-ray. The Digital Bits posted an article back in November that indicated this new Remastered version would be released on Blu-ray in March, but that was before the HBO Max deal happened in all likelihood, and so they changed that plan until God knows when instead. I've heard a little buzz about it being at the end of the year, but right now it's really one big question mark. I also had someone tell me that the older, original version that was put on Prime the year before last was the DVD version and that for him that's how it played, but that's not how it played for me at all. He may have been looking at it on a small device screen, whereas I was looking at it on my TV, and it was all stretched out and the effects sequences especially looked absolutely horrible.

I actually am glad it's 4:3, because that's how it aired and how it was intended. Maybe I can make sure that my library orders a copy when it comes out.
Hope this means an eventual rerelease of the associated movies too, though they were a mixed bag. I did see they are putting out the re-edit of The Gathering. I do wish they would also release the original version for posterity. Maybe do a 2-pack deal or something.
All this B5 talk also reminds me I never finished Crusade.
