Last night's episode of Black Lightning was so bad that if it wasn't the final season, I would have shut it off permanently.
The real world is so full of hate right now, and it's when TV writers do stuff like this that perpetuates that hate.
Not every white cop is a racist. Not every white cop sees a black kid walking down the street and targets him. There are tens of thousands of cops in this country. Black Lightning writers would have you believe they are all racists targeting black people for no reason.
It's sickening.
And to have the hero of the show brutally attack people and cross the line is just so pathetic.
What this episode does is perpetuate the hate.

This is getting to be an old statement, but I hadn't heard of Black Lightning, and it's about to start season four.

It's a DC show that can be decent, but frustrating because again, it has to push a narrative that demonizes white cops and paints them all as racists.

Since the opener, the show has been better in regards to politics. Last night was a more solid episode with a decent cliffhanger. I also have noticed that when you do deal with woke storylines, you can literally fastforward the scenes and miss nothing. I do that on several shows when I don't watch live.

I will say this--one great thing about never reading spoilers for something is that you can really be surprised.
This show just pulled a Doctor Who and I had no idea an actress was leaving the show.
By the way, how dumb is it to leave a show in the final season?

Yeah--I'm actually glad this show is leaving. TV writers just like to paint cops as villains, especially white cops, pandering to a horrible group of people and creating a false narrative. Cops aren't the enemy.

So funny that you can FF through the woke-ness and not miss a thing. Too funny! I just realized that, for the most part, I rewatch TV shows that I really like, and most of them have been off the air for awhile, so there's no woke aspect to them. I watch an occasional episode of current shows, like NCIS, NCIS New Orleans, and FBI: Most Wanted come to mind. I don't recall woke-ness in them. I'm recording The Equalizer, some of which I watched, but I didn't notice woke-ness there either, other than McCall is a black female. Turnabout's fair play; go for it Queen Latifah! BTW, it's nice to see Chris Noth again. As you may recall, I wasn't sure how "woke" was being used until you (and maybe others) explained it to me. I keep seeing the term in here. And that made me realize. The only time I hear "woke" is when I watch Fox News. That word doesn't come up on CNN and MSNBC or the TV shows I watch.

That's because the left promotes wokeness as a means of ruining things.
As for fastforwarding through the woke scenes, you could do that on a lot of shows. There was one episode of Supergirl where there were two storylines. One involved Supergirl dealing with Martians. The other was Supergirl's sister's gay love life falling apart. The two stories were so separate it was like watching two different episodes and you could totally ignore one and not miss a beat.
