I'll see if others pop in and want to talk about it, but I have never seen a movie with this many plotholes, with this many questions and writing mistakes, that I enjoyed so much.
They did so much good that it outweighed the very serious nitpicking issues.
For me, the best moment, and this is a big spoiler, was when
MJ fell off the Statue of Liberty. Tom Holland tried to save her and was blocked by Green Goblin. You see this look on Andrew Garfield's face and without saying a word, you know exactly what he's thinking. This was basically a second chance to not only save Gwen, but to save his counterpart from the guilt that he clearly felt after that incident.
And what was even better was the look on Garfield's face when he succeeded. He didn't have to say a word and the audience just knew what he was thinking. Terrific acting. I feel bad for Garfield because he is an amazing actor who got jilted with bad scripts. He will always be considered the worst Spiderman, but that's not his fault at all. I think he was a terrific Spider-Man--but his Peter was a bit too cool. Not awkward enough.
But his heroism was right there with the others.
That moment was just such a brilliant redemption for Garfield, and he played it perfectly. The only thing I might have changed is that I would have had a shot by shot mirror of what happened with Gwen and with MJ, but of course succeeding this time. Nonetheless, that was one of my favorite moments of the movie.
