I guess they weren't kidding. AOL never jokes. It comes from not having a sense of humor. I was a board and chatroom moderator for them for years. One day they announced that they were getting rid of all moderators and paid content staff...and that was that. I've been waiting for them to kill off the last vestigages of what made old AOL a truly fun place to be for a long time. Rest in peaces boards. Screw you AOHELL... |

The Yahoo boards are a lot like the old, just-discontinued AOL boards as a matter of fact. I think I'm more comfortable with that format. |

It's April 2, and I can't get into them, even though they were on-again off-again the last two days. Honestly, I'm happy here, if that works for everyone else.
Cram, I didn't thank you for setting this up, so many thanks! Also, I love the picture at the top, Spock, Kirk, and Bones with the rainbow colored space behind them.

Mel, if you don't mind my asking, what don't you like about the Forum I suggested? Is it the look of the place, the way the boards are set up, etc.? I'm just curious.
And by the way --I only e-mailed people who were regulars on the old AOL R&S board because those were the names I collected right before the board shut down, so if you were left out, that was the only reason why. It wasn't anything personal. Others here were welcome to check it out too. I told the people I e-mailed to feel free to Forward the e-mail and Link to others, save for one individual.

I know how you feel about that, Mel --but they mainly don't pay any attention to what goes on unless things start to get really out of control, otherwise, they'll just remain on the sidelines for the most part, unless they have something to add to the topic being discussed. Things would have to get pretty ugly before they step in usually, however. And I had been considering switching back to the old Screen Name for a while now, long before there was any talk about the AOL boards going bye-bye, but I used SFG7 for so long, I was very used to having it too, so I was somewhat torn on the matter to be perfectly honest. |
