I saw the episodes that Wesley was in. It was a well written portrayal of Kirk, though THOSE episodes took place in an alternate timeline where Pike didn't give up command of the Enterprise.
The writing was very true to form with Kirk and Wesley managed to give us a Kirk that was very Shatner-like. I thought he felt more like the Shatner version of Kirk than Pine did. But I still want to see Shatner return, even if they use de-aging tech.
