Over at Blastr:Brent Spiner says he regrets how Next Gen limited what came after True fact: Brent Spiner was brilliant as Star Trek: The Next Generation's child-like wide-eyed android Data. He's also pretty awesome in real life, too. But unfortunately, the actor suffered a bit from what most Trek actors before and after him also suffered from: that pesky Star Trek curse. blastr.com/2012/04/brent-spiner-says-he-regr.php

That's like a lottery winner regretting spending the buck to buy the ticket.

I read this a while ago and as much as I like Brent, it annoyed me a bit. Brent Spiner is a character actor. A very good one. Before TNG he was in various films and a great TV version of Dashiell Hammett's The Dain Curse . He had to know, going in, that he might end up type cast. You had a long run and have become an icon. I like you Brent, but Android-up. Get over it!
