Another thing about the weeping angels--wouldn't a defense be to have a large group of people on them?
The bigger the group, the harder it is to get them all to blink at the same time.

The biggest problem, as has been pointed out, is that it's impossible to accept that the Doctor wouldn't be able to get to them, as written.
Compare that to Rose Tyler's exit, as she went kicking and screaming, and fought her way back until she found The Doctor again.

My oh my!
And they can't provide links...
She reminds me of the chick from the Wonder Years crossed with Olivia Wilde.
Not sure why this is such a big deal though, since other British actresses have done the same. Alex Kingston (also of Doctor Who) had some nudity in the Moll Flanders she did for Masterpiece Theater.

Like this is a bad thing. More interesting was that Karen Gillan seemed open to appearing in the 50th anniversary.
I don't know how they can possibly make a 50th anniversary show worthy of what it should be in only 90 minutes.

Like this is a bad thing. I don't think it's a big deal either (I just wish they had shot Jenna from a better angle than they did there). But they haven't had to deal with a companion actress who had done this before, and I guess the only thing that may make them a bit apprehensive about it even in this day and age is the percentage of kids that watch the show regularly.

My oh my! And they can't provide links... Aren't you glad I took care of that for you previously? She reminds me of the chick from the Wonder Years crossed with Olivia Wilde. Interesting combination. I see more Danica McKellar in her though, now that you mention it.

I don't know how they can possibly make a 50th anniversary show worthy of what it should be in only 90 minutes. It's my understanding that the BBC is going to have several different Who specials throughout the year. I certainly agree that a mere 90 minutes would be the tip of the iceberg for a show with this long a history. I also understand that Matt Smith is attempting to cajole all the living Doctors to appear together for one of these events. Baker, Davison, Tennant and Sylvester McCoy appear to be on board. The jury is still out on Paul McGann and Christopher Eccleston.

A special isn't the same thing as a real story.
I think to do it true justice, it should be a multidoctor SEASON.

Karen Gillan won't be back. Moffat has already shot that one down. He intended both their exits to be final. There's about as much chance as seeing her as there is Ecclestone coming back.
A 90 minute special would work. It's worked before with the 5 Doctors. More would be great, but I imagine that we are going to see a lot of "specials", with a possibility of one of those specials being a multi-doctor story... Don't listen to anything printed in British newspapers they pull fast ones every year from Gillian Anderson playing the Rani, to Joan Collins as the Doctors mother. The funniest one was that Collin Baker (the 6th Doctor) was going to appear as the Hydrogen Collider!
From memory McCoy, McGann, Davison, Tom Baker and David Tennant have all said publically that they are open to appearing. Tom Baker said it would depend on what was offered. Collin Baker said no, but you can't blame him the man was fired!

You are probably right about Colin Baker. If you haven't already, listen to some of this Doctor Who Audio shows for Big Finish. In one episode, Pier Pressure, he openly mocks the BBC. It was definitely an "In" joke for fans. ;D

None BBC links should work: trailer:
Prequel:
SPOILERS............................. ............................................. ............................................ .............................................. . . . . . .............................. I like the fact they aren't ignoring the events of Rory and Amy's departure and it has lasting consequences on him. I think the Doctor works best when they play on his pain and baggage, and then force him to become the tortured hero.

Not bad. Liking Jenna Louise Coleman. I wonder if she's related to Gary Coleman.

Clara and Oswin are obviously closely related in some way. Smith and Coleman even hinted at it in the Christmas trailer.

It seems that Clara is from the 19th century, though I hope I'm wrong there. I like the idea of the companion being from modern times so that he or she is basically a representative of the audience.

Or she was a stowaway aboard the TARDIS. The fan theory that she transmatted to the TARDIS before they blew up the Dalek asylum is still a possibility. But how she transformed from a Dalek back to human would take a good explanation!

Tennant's the easy one. There is a version of him out there. Plus, he's young enough that the aging isn't an issue. Too recently involved in the role.
I do wonder though if Tennant will somehow upstage Matt Smith. Hard to say. Matt Smith is great. But Tennant, in my opinion, was a notch above.

I think the only concern will be that their current lead Matt Smith gets sufficient enough screen time. You can't insult your leading actor by giving them very little to do. That's why I think if it is Matt Smith and Tennant there won't be any or many more Doctors cast. You have to give them both enough to do for it to be worthwhile for a) Tennant to want to come back and b) for Matt Smith to want to stay in the role because he's appreciated.
It sounds like they will probably honouring more recent Who, than classic Who. I'm fine with that they've celebrated the classic Who with multi-Doctor stories at least 5 times before.
I can't see Moffat bringing back the clone from the alternate universe though. He strikes me as someone who likes to have more fun with time-bending stories.

Yeah, but it's the CLASSIC Who that is celebrating 50 years. The recent Who is only moving into year 8.
I think they need to give the people what they want. Personally, that's why I think that a season long multidoctor arc is better. This way, you can honor all the doctors you can get, pair them with Smith, and maybe do some sort of kitchen sink finale.
The kitchen sink stories were a specialty of Davies, and Moffat can handle it.

Speaking as an older American Who fan I want to see all the Doctors honored. Please don't get me wrong, I love the newer Doctors. They are true to the series. I don't have any new series/old series hang ups. It's all one long show as far as I'm concerned. But I do want to see both Bakers, Davison, McCoy and McGann in the specials. I know Eccleston has issues and I respect them. For newer fans I really encourage you to go on Netflix and watch some of the other Doctor's work and to also listen to some of the fantastic new Audio adventures of the Doctor at Big Finish Productions. You won't be sorry.
