I still want to see the regeneration of Paul McGann. Ain't never gonna happen, sorry to say. It might. McGann filmed something at the BBC that everyone assumed was for Doctors Revisited, but he wasn't on it. My theory is he's in the Anniversry show and so are all of the surviving Doctors, albeit briefly. Davison almost admitted it.

I don't know why they didn't just pick McGann to play the next incarnation of the Doctor instead of Capaldi, being that he obviously got shortchanged playing the role, having done just the one TV movie. Sure, it would require some explaining, but they do pretty much whatever the heck the want in "Doctor Who" anyway, so they could have come up with a seemingly good reason for his regenerating back into McGann's Doctor.

I wonder if other clusters of Who fans are talking about McGann as much as we are. If they aren't , they should. I can't stress enough the need for people to try any of his full cast audio episodes. Listen to just one, and you will see that the BBC totally missed the boat by leaving him out. As much as I love Eccleston, McGann should have been in the first new season of Who. BTW, that photo on Blastyr is from a set he took just a few years ago. I have one with him and a Dalek, The Dude looks looks great and he's got two years on me (the bastard !).

Yahoo Movies UK:Karen Gillan: I forgot I was naked 10/4/2013 Karen Gillan has insisted she forgot she was naked while filming a nude scene for new romantic comedy Not Another Happy Ending. The former Doctor Who star plays Jane, a novelist who is hit by writer's block, and so tries everything she can to find inspiration - including trying to write completely starkers. Karen said: "I was really nervous beforehand - naturally I knew I'd have to sit there all day without any clothes on. MORE: uk.movies.yahoo.com/karen-gillan-forgot-naked-232837323.html

I have seen recent McGann clips, and he does look like he can still do the role.
It's a shame they would never consider a real run with him.

All of my jokes aside, he could easily play The Doctor on TV. I am amused by the fact that in his Big Finish and BBC audios they still describe him as he looked in the movie, almost Edwardian. I guess he wore a wig in the film and in the radio shows people always ask him if it's his hair. They really rank on it in Blood of the Daleks and Horror of Glam Rock.

I know at least one person here who'll be happy.
Over at io9:Two previously lost Doctor Who episodes come out this week! We've heard tons of rumors about the discovery of lost Doctor Who episodes, and while many of those rumors remain unconfirmed, at least a few episodes have been rediscovered. The Radio Times has announced that two previously lost episodes from the Patrick Troughton era will be available for download this Wednesday!

I probably would have tried to catch it anyway, but now I have a new reason to see Not Another Happy Ending. Thanks for that!

Yay! Every time a lost episode is found, that makes me happy.
I have really got to get back into Doctor Who. Oh well, one thing at a time.

They have had these rumors before. When they get a release date, THAT is when it will matter. I posted that particular article because there could be big news coming as soon as tomorrow in relation to the supposed cache of 100 lost episodes ...or not. We'll just have to wait and see about what they say come tomorrow.

See, now Zap2it.com is reporting on it too. It's as though they're trying to get out in front of it in the event BBC confirms that huge find tomorrow.

I'm very curious about this 8 doctor audio.
Thinking about it, why would only the first 8 Doctors interact? Why not all of them, including ones we haven't seen yet?
Why in some capacity, would a villain want to say, attack all the doctors, but stop at say, number 5?

If you are talking about the Big Finish 50th Anniversary CD Set, it only has the earlier Doctors because Eccleston, Tennant and Smith are contractually forbidden from appearing with Big Finish as The Doctor. Which is damned stupid since Big Finish pays the BBC a license fee anyway.

Which is damned stupid since Big Finish pays the BBC a license fee anyway. Yeah, but they're paying them a licensing fee for Audio rights only apparently. That doesn't mean the BBC television arm of "Doctor Who" couldn't grant them a waiver though. They just don't want to evidently, unless Tenant and Smith's agents pose a problem also and don't want them doing the Audio dramas. Eccleston we know wouldn't involve himself in those in any event, and perhaps Tenant and Smith aren't interested in doing the Big Finish productions either for that matter.

I realize that from a reality point of view, but from within the plot, since all time has already happened, then all incarnations of the Doctor exist.
So look at say The Five Doctors, which aired when Peter Davison was The Doctor.
All versions of the Doctor were plucked out of time for an adventure. Why did they stop at the first 5?
Where were 6-13? Why not get them too?
Just because say, David Tennant was 23 years away from landing the role doesn't mean the 10th Doctor wouldn't have been involved.

New thought--
Technically, we never saw the second doctor regenerate into the third. He regenerated, but the season ended, and the third just popped out of the tardis in his season premiere.
Could John Hurt's time have been squeezed in between 2 and 3?

It's interesting how though they are taking similar attitudes, the secrecy involved in the 50th feels so much different than with STID.
I guess what it is, is that they revealed enough for the 50th.
We know some things--
David Tennant and Billie Piper are back reprising their roles.
We know that the villain in some capacity is a past, previously unknown version of the Doctor. He's someone so bad, that he felt he was unworthy of the name The Doctor.
I believe there's some classic Who villain involved, but I forget.
But I think that alone is just enough to get us excited and ready to go.
Comparatively, STID chose to go with Trek's most iconic villain, unnecessarily, and chose not to market him, which was just dumb.
Khan was unnecessary to the story, but if you're going to use Khan, USE him. Market him.
Don't hide him and lie as if the audience is stupid.

I liked the 50th Promo but , to be honest, I think it's time for Moffat to go. I like some of his ideas but not all of them. He's been in charge for too long. Doctor Who thrives on change. Get a new Showrunner.

You need to get the right guy. It's not like Moffat is Brannon Braga or Rick Berman. He's done a lot of good for the franchise.
My biggest disappointment is there aren't more classic doctors involved, unless of course, the secrecy has made it a surprise.
